Don Shaver has been a technical leader in industry for many years. He has developed systems and software driven solutions starting in the Defense and Seismic industries. While in the semiconductor industry, he established and led several R&D initiatives, and standards developments in video compression (ISO/IEC MPEG2) , multimedia signal processing, and communications solutions (DSL, HomePNA™, IEEE 802, Wi-Fi®, WiMAX™, 3G / 4G-LTE, and IEEE 1901.2 PLC). Don has worked in standards development organizations including IEEE, ITU, ISO/IEC, and SAE. Don is inventor on 18 U.S. issued patents.
Don earned PhD and Masters degrees from Syracuse University in Systems and Information Science. He also earned a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse. Don is an active member of SAE, ASME, SEG, and IEEE.
His specialties include signal processing, communications, search and optimization in combinatorially complex domains, standards development, embedded systems and software, and establishing, staffing, and executing leading edge R&D programs.
